Jordan’s Christening

Yesterday I was lucky enough to be hired to take photos at the Christening of Jordan Daniel. He is such a cute baby! And so is his brother! It was a beautiful day and his family and friends were all so kind and welcoming. They even invited me and my assistant, Rachel Jane, to join in the wonderful spread of food that they made for the reception. Everything was excellent!

I was so honoured to be part of such a joyous occasion.

Here’s my pick for best photo from the ones I took with my 50mm:

1/100 sec at f2.8, ISO 400
SB700 bounced
Edited in Lightroom

This is my favourite picture as it captures the two most important aspects of the day – Jordan Daniel and his faith.

As this was paid work, I didn’t constrain myself to only using the 50mm (although many of my best photos were using that lens). Here’s my favourite from the pictures I took with different lenses, I love the look on everyone face!

18-200mm @ 18mm
1/200 sec at f3.5, ISO 400
SB700 bounced
Edited in Lightroom

Lastly, here’s a gallery of all my 20 favourite photos with the 50mm (plus the ones above) in a gallery. I had to use the flash in all of my photos and keep the ISO up as the lighting wasn’t super bright. At times it was a difficult shoot as the angles and obstructions but I was still able to get quite a few keepers! I still have a lot of editing ahead of me and I’m quite happy with how they turned out so far!!

Thanks again to the whole family for letting me be a part of Jordan’s special day!

Matt
